Texas born and raised Shawn’s love of the state reaches from the heart of the Hill Country he hunted as a young boy in Doss with his Grandpa Itz , down to the Gulf Coast waters where he taught his six children the love of fishing and family time well spent. Shawn attended the University of Texas A&M as a result of his passion for nature and the outdoors. Upon his graduation in 1988 armed with a degree in Wildlife Biology, he spent the next 17 years overseeing every detail of a game- fenced, 2200 acre working ranch in Charlotte, Texas. His dedication to the success of the ranch included management and improving the whitetail deer herd through habitat enhancement and overseeing all aspects of a commercial Brangus cow/ calf operation.
In 2006, when asked to share his expertise and knowledge of successful land and wildlife management, Shawn made a career change that led him into real estate. He became a consultant for Ruple Properties, a very accomplished farm and ranch sales company. Shawn fell in love with the idea of helping people realize their dreams of being Texas land owners, obtained his Broker’s license, and began what has grown into a 14 year career in Real Estate.
